History
Craton Capital was founded in 2003 with the objective of providing investors with carefully managed exposure to global commodity markets, providing consistent real absolute returns well ahead of investment alternatives, including global equity indices.
In November 2003, Craton Capital launched its first product, a global precious metals fund, with initial capital of US$2.2 million.
The business has grown in the ensuing years: Funds under management have increased to over US$160 million while the team has grown to nine individuals with offices in Johannesburg and Europe.
