Podcast: Gold and Miners in transition from Bear to Bull Market
The market for gold and miners has dramatically changed in the first quarter of 2016 - finally. After careful consideration, it is our view that it has shifted for the better insofar that the market is transitioning from a bear to a bull market. The FED lift-off last December was an initial watershed moment although the future rate hike path will prove to be more gradual than most initially anticipated. But more importantly, the now wide spread environment of negative interest rates for government bonds significantly increases the appeal of holding gold. Gold miners have accomplished a remarkable turn around and are now well positioned to profit from a rising gold price. If a coming bull market is anything like the last one, which saw the XAU Index gain 400% between 2000 and 2008, then plenty of upside potential remains. In the enclosed podcast, Markus Bachmann as lead advisor of the Craton Capital Precious Metal Fund assesses this investment opportunity.
